Introduction

Welcome! I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at University of Texas at Dallas.

My research interests are in International macroeconomics, Debt dynamics, Macroeconomic volatility and uncertainty, and time-series analysis.

Before beginning my doctoral studies, I earned an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I graduated as valedictorian. I also served as a faculty member at East West University Business School in Bangladesh.

A Century of Inflation and Economic Uncertainty: Putting the COVID-19 Shock in Context

This paper places COVID or post-pandemic macro volatility and uncertainty episode in long-run historical perspective across advanced economies. Using a time-varying parameter VAR with stochastic volatility, the paper examines the evolution of output-growth and inflation volatility during COVID with earlier episodes of macroeconomic instability including wars, interwar upheavals, the Great Inflation, the Global Financial Crisis etc.
